I recon hello to blog town would be a relatively boring first blog to open this blog; so let`s see how we can pep this up a bit….
Imagine the following situation:
An average Thursday , a growling stomach indicates “must be lunchtime”!
Slightly indecisive approaching one of so many different food outlets, restaurants, cafes; you name it.
Finally entering a place, walking towards…yes right ;walking towards what???
The waiter? bar staff? or chef that that smiles at you; welcomes you with : “hello sir/mam” or ‘hello, would you like a menu?’ or “Hello, would you like a table”? even.
In the these moments some customers seem to switch all receptors for a friendly welcome off,
and turn to black non-responsive notice boards for advise!
Their facial expression turns into a ??? but they keep on looking around for more non responsive notice boards and walk straight pass the waiter that holds the menu/ the lunch menu ; the menu that could possibly answer all questions at once.
Or even better the waiter himself could tell all about the “Thursday Lunch specials/ takeout options/ drink add ons etc.etc.etc……
Yet a slight turn to the opposite, then add another 45 degrees and walk slowly, the eyes sliding over the interior, banging into one of the tables on the way out whilst the eyes were still focusing on , well I am not sure what; and disappear with a still growling stomach that indicates” must be lunchtime” towards the next food outlet.
If anybody has suggestions on what did just happen, how to possibly still get the attention of those individuals…please share those thoughts with me ![]()
Hey, the zombie is creature found in most retail environments. If your store has one way in – it has one way out! After your first approach, position yourself between the door and the zombie.
If your shop has more than one door, keep following the zombie and when he stops, stand in front of them and offer your help.
Sometimes the zombie just needs a jolt to bring them back to earth – they will either feel threatened and leave in a hurry – or accept your engagement. Either way you no longer have a time waister in your face.
Are you sure you were not just having a bad-hair day on Thursday?
